Yes, the site hasn't had alot of updates the past week and the reason for this is that we've been away boarding it up in Austria.  We thought this year we would again venture out to a new resort and this time it was the Austrian soil we choose.  Our flight landed into InnsBruck just after sunset but during the flight I managed to take a couple of pictures.

On route to Austria Sun going down Mountain range view

The final decent into Innsbruck was quite an experience.  From speaking with other people the landing that involves being thrown about like a rag doll in every direction with all the cross winds is normal.  Upon touching down the thing that surprised us was the fact that all the ski and snowboard bags were all put outside the airport building rather than in the luggage collection area. Concern?

The trip from Innsbruck to Mayrhofen wasn't very long and the bus we were picked up in was very comfortable.

Gastehaus Valetine, Mayrhofen Austria

We arrived at our accommodation "Gastehaus Valetine" of which we were very happy with the room and where we were allocated.  The picture left shows our accommodation which was clean, friendly and quiet.  The location of this guest house was perfect as we were within 5 minutes of both lifts.  We also managed to land ourselves a balcony which can be seen in the picture.

Breakfast was served between 7.30 - 9.00 if I remember correctly and this consisted of Tea/Coffee/OJ with 2 rolls each, selection of cheese, meet, jams and nutella.  If you're not a breakfast person it's worth going down having a cuppa and making up the rolls to have on the slopes.

Another rule of house is that all boards, skis and boots are kept downstairs where you can only exit and enter through the back of the building.  The rack I have to say is designed for ski's so boarders you have to be fast to get the 1st gap or the last gap or chances are finding a position where your board will be steady will take a while.  Overall though very nice place to stay :)

 Kramerwirt hotel

After the first night we were told at breakfast that our diner arrangements were actually in another hotel situated down in the town centre.  The hotel was only about a 5 - 10 minute walk and we were very pleased with the evening meals we got.  The beef stroganoff is out of this world.  If you find yourself in this hotel and some of the soups sound a little dodgy for example curried apple you have to try it.  They tasted very nice and for one I wouldn't of picked such a flavour if tomato was on the menu.  Down at the back of this hotel is a bar called win win.  The bar can be accessed from the hotel and it's very nice, prices for drinks are good to.  The bar consists of big TV's to watch sporting events, sitting/eating area and a puggy machine.

We really enjoyed the pistes, ranging in all abilities. The views were magnificent. Overall a fantastic holiday.
